Terry Community Tree is a grassroots nonprofit rooted in the heart of Chicago, committed to nurturing youth, empowering families, and uplifting the community through education, creativity, and opportunity. Founded by Marissa Terry, our mission is to plant seeds of change by providing free and affordable programs in culinary arts, STEM, leadership, and mass communication.
From afterschool enrichment to summer camps and hands-on workshops, we create safe, welcoming spaces where young people can grow into confident, capable leaders. Whether learning to cook, exploring technology, or building life skills, our youth are supported every step of the way—with love, structure, and purpose.
We believe in the importance of STEM education and have developed a comprehensive curriculum that includes hands-on projects and experiments. Our program helps children develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
We believe that healthy eating is key to a child's well-being. That's why we provide healthy snacks, such as fruits and vegetables, to all participants. We also accommodate for any dietary restrictions.
Our after-school program is led by experienced instructors who are passionate about teaching and have years of experience working with children. They are experts in their field and bring a wealth of knowledge to our program.
